Webinar “Hyperspectral Characterisation of Next Generation Solar Cells and LEDs”
by Jacob Yvon-Leroux, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 16:00 MEZ (Central European Summer Time (CEST))
For this webinar, Laura-Isabelle Dion-Bertrand (Sales and Marketing Director and Application Scientist) and Marc Verhaegen (CTO) from PhotonETC will give an insight on how hyperspectral photoluminescence (PL) and reflectance imaging can be used to optically characterize the next generation solar cells and LEDs. By gaining access to the optical properties over large areas, it is possible to improve the fabrication process and overall efficiency of a photovoltaic device and thus produce always cleaner energy.
During this webinar, the PL and transmittance spectra of a perovskite crystal will be analyzed using Photon Etc.’s state-of-the-art IMA™. It will rapidly provide maps of uniformity and identify surface defects based on wavelength peak shifts and intensity variations.
Photon Etc.’s IMA™ is a fast and all-in-one customizable hyperspectral microscope ideal for complex material and biological analysis through diffuse reflectance, transmittance, photoluminescence, electroluminescence and fluorescence global mapping.

Photon Etc. is a Canadian company that designs and manufactures highly sensitive infrared cameras and ultrafast hyperspectral imaging systems (wide-field, luminescence and Raman microscopy) for academic research and cutting-edge industrial applications.
Its core technology is a continuously tunable filter based on volume Bragg gratings. It allows choosing the filtered wavelength to the nanometer. Hyperspectral global imaging consists in the spectral acquisition on a large area of a sample without damaging it.
With these technologies and its know-how in the domain of highly sensible infrared cameras, Photon Etc. enables the complex analysis of nanomaterials and recyclable materials, semiconductors or solar cells by the mean of its hyperspectral imaging platforms. It also opens the second biological window with the global imaging of living cells in vitro, small animals in vivo, the hemoglobin concentration of skin or even retinal imaging.
Photon etc. is represented by MD INNOVATION TECH GmbH, D-95659 Arzberg, www.md-innovationtech.com, in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, parts of South and East Europe.
