Fidex from Animage is the premier veterinary CT system, used in general practice, specialty clinics and research laboratories on a global footprint. Fidex is available in two product configurations:

Fidex-Classic has been a pioneer in veterinary CT imaging, and it has been installed in 16 countries around the globe. It has greatly enhanced users’ diagnostic capabilities. It supports presurgical planning through visualization and measurement tools using the high resolution CT volume images. Constant improvement of detector components combined with software upgrades with increasing levels of compute power keep the Classic at the cusp of technological advances while keeping the initial capital investment at a minimum.

Fidex-FS is based on a new 43″ dynamic medical grade detector panel. The FS makes patient positioning for CT scanning easier due to increased patient table range coupled with shorter scan times than previously possible. Advanced visualization provides MPR, slab MIP, Volume rendering, dynamic side-by-side CT viewing, and much more.

Fidex-FS has a superb Digital Radiography function thanks to numerous filter functions, the large size of the panel, small 150 micron pixel size and 16-bit digitization. An optional large carbon fiber, full-floating DR table enables all views even for very large patients.

Fidex-FS also provides state-of-the-art Digital Fluoroscopy with the same large size panel in both raw and filtered viewing. For angiography and cardiology, we offer special modules as part of the system.

Animage’s Fidex 3-in-1 scanner has been designed from the ground up with veterinary clinics in mind. FIDEX remains the only 3-in-1 advanced imaging solution available with one-shot DR (Digital Radiography), fluoroscopy and CT (Computed Tomography).

Fidex can also be configured as a one-, or two-modality system. Fidex’s combination of these modalities into one machine conserves valuable space and financial resources, as well as energy and other operational expenses, thus making the clinical and economic advantages of in-house CT capability vastly more achievable.

Before Animage entered the veterinary market with its FIDEX CT scanner, the only option available were CT scanners designed for humans. However, there are many drawbacks using such a scanner. For that reason more and more veterinary clinics are investing into a FIDEX scanner instead.

ABC™ or Automated Breathing Control is a fully automated and electronically implemented method to control animal patients’ breathing during CT scanning. It synchronizes a customized Model 2002 Ventilator with data acquisition of Fidex. This effectively prevents motion artifacts, and thorax CT images come out sharp and clear every time. After set-up with your anesthesia machine there is no further interaction necessary. The ventilator will breathe the patient safely and reliably, and will pause during the short intervals of data taking.
